AANA
Foundation
The
Nebraska Association of Nurse Anesthetists has
established a student scholarship fund in conjunction with the AANA
foundation. The
Foundation would place the money we have collected, in a separate fund
titled the Nebraska Association Student Scholarship fund. One of the criteria for
selection would be that the SRNA would have been a resident of
Nebraska at the time of acceptance into a nurse anesthesia program. This criterion would be added
to the Foundation’s selection criteria for student scholarships. A minimum of $1000 is needed
to establish a fund. The
scholarships are awarded in $1000 increments.
Because of NANA’s
commitment to assist future SRNAs in achieving their educational
goals, the association will sponsor a $1000 scholarship on an annual
basis. This amount will
be sent to the foundation and deposited in the Nebraska Student Nurse
Anesthetist scholarship fund. Additional
contributions can still be made by individual members. To sponsor a scholarship, a
minimum of $1000 (per award) is required. Therefore, each time we reach
$1000, an additional award can be made available to another student.
The eligibility criteria for
receiving the Nebraska scholarship includes: 1) the SRNA must be a
resident of Nebraska at the time of acceptance into a nurse anesthesia
program, and 2) the SRNA must be in the final twelve months of his/her
program. The student also
has to meet additional criteria for selection established by the AANA
Foundation.
